Mandie received a gift voucher for a photo session last Christmas and I was really looking forward to this shoot – it is a little bit different from what I usually do as Mandie’s son and daughter are young adults. The session was a breeze: no tricks or bribes required to get my models to pose for me this time
Mandie specifically asked for black and white shots and I think it works really well on these portraits. Here are some of my favourite shots from the session.

Last week my friend Niels and his two gorgeous children came to visit me in St Albans. Niels and his family had been living abroad for several years so it was the first time I had the chance to meet his son B aged 4 and daughter P aged 2, such great kids! We went on the “bear hunt” in the local woods and had fun exploring!
Here are some of my favourite shots from our little adventure in the woods:

Last weekend I had the pleasure to meet Catherine and Mark in their lovely St Albans home. They have three beautiful daughters aged 5, 3 and 1 and I really enjoyed photographing them on this sunny Sunday morning.
Catherine and Mark asked me to take some photos of the girls together which is always a challenge when young children are involved so I was pleased to get a few shots with the three of them! Here are some group shots and some portraits of the girls on their own or interacting with their parents.

I didn’t have to go very far for this morning’s session as Rachel lives just around the corner from me here in St Albans. I had the the pleasure of photographing her lovely 10 months old daughter S – she was feeling quite shy but I love the photos below, giving her mummy cuddles and showing off her beautiful eyes.

When Helen opened her front door we both knew we had met before, and it’s not really surprising as there is rarely more than 1 or 2 degrees of separation between St Albans mums and our boys are the same age. After a minute we both remembered where we met: fighting over the same scooter while volunteering at last year’s NCT sale, oops!
We had a really lovely session first at home and then we walked over to the nearby nunnery (with the family cat in tow!) 2.5 year old G was in a playful mood and led us through a little adventure in the woods. The portrait session is a present for Father’s Day next week so if you know G’s dad don’t spoil the surprise!

Here are a few photos from last week’s session with cute baby L and his lovely mummy Sonia. He was such a big boy at just 5 weeks old holding his head up, I just loved his dark hair, dark eyes and pouting lips!

Here is a sneak preview of this week’s photo session with Sarah and Paul’s family in St Albans. Two year old big brother O was in a happy and playful mood, a pleasure to photograph. My favourites of this session also include some lovely parent and baby shot of their lovely daughter A, only 5 weeks old.

I had a lovely time yesterday morning photographing Leire and Graham’s family in their beautiful St Albans home. Their boys ages 3 and 1 were so much fun and great with the camera. I got the opportunity to practice a bit of Spanish as the boys are bilingual, they also sang songs, bounced on the beds, gazed at the clouds from the loft room and enjoyed cuddles from mum and dad.
I had a hard time picking my favourites from this session, here they are:

I had a really nice session on Monday with Rebecca and her family. Baby E was such a natural with the camera and seemed to enjoy the whole experience with all those kisses and cuddles with mummy and daddy. The large window in the bedroom provided a beautiful soft light which was perfect to show off E’s beautiful features and babyness.

I love going back to families I have photographed in the past and see how much the children have grown and developed. I first photographed Laura and Paul’s family over 3 years ago when their son M was just 4 weeks old. They have asked me to come back this year to photograph their family again including their beautiful baby daughter.
It was great to see M as a “big boy”, he was so chatty and made a point of correcting my pronunciation of the French towns on his Little Red Train roadmap.
